Hello all,

I just went through the steps to create release 4.6 of KPhotoAlbum. Main
new features include Age View, Face Detection and displaying images on map.
Thanks to all who contributed, especially Johannes, Tobias and Jesper.

More information is available on

View and Face Detection videos.

Hello KPA maintainers and fans,

thanks for KPA 4.6 !

I have one nagging doubt about it: Seems a bug fix preventing a crash
didn't made it in the release.

Details:
I had been bitten by https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342510 on
using a version downloaded from git.
KPA crashed on confirming a correctly detected face.
The bug had got fixed - thanks ! - and it also disappeared for me when I
updated my copy from git.

Now on KPA 4.6 it seems the bug is back: It crashed; the crashreporter
pointed me immediately to the bug above, due to the same/a similar
stacktrace.

When I had a look the source, it seems the fix is not present and I
could apply the patch which fixed it:
http://commits.kde.org/kphotoalbum/975ce55b85fbd9c747c231dbadcdbd923424d871
(No warning about a reverse patch)

This made the bug once again disappear.

Could you please have a look ?
IMHO the missing patch would justify a 4.6.1 release.

Regards

Martin

Exactly. We fixed it afterwards, the release already was out before the bug
was reported.

This is also my opinion. We also fixed another crash. And I'm just about to
add some more clear messages concerning the database update to version 6.

I would definitely do a bugfix release (after I merged my new and hopefully
better update messages), as we fixed two crash situations.

Cheers, Tobias
